Information You Need to Know

  • These races have multiple corrals to allow skiers to spread out and prevent congestion at the start: 50km freestyle, 25km freestyle, and 25km classic. Corrals are not waves - that is they are not ability-based. If you are in one of these races, you were asked to estimate your finish time and automatically assigned a corral. The start time appears on the registration confirmation you received from RunSignUp.
  • The 50km skiathlon is capped at 115 skiers
  • Each skier will receive a 2022 Great Bear Chase ski hat
  • T-shirts are available for purchase when you register
  • The pasty lunch returns! We'll serve up fresh, award-winning pasties, bakery items, gluten-free soup and refreshments.
  • We anticipate making the Calumet High School locker rooms (including showers) available again!
  • See the "Maps and Parking" page for a locator map and course maps

Age Groups

Special note on age groups: Each year our organizing committee reviews the age group ranges for both genders. Our goal is to roughly equalize the number of skiers in each age group (based on the previous year’s numbers) for fairness and to ensure competitive balance among all age groups.

As a result, some age groups are five-year spans and some are ten-year spans. Male and female age groups don’t necessarily match – in many ranges the number of male and female skiers are not the same.
