Snow Bike Race registration is now open

Like the great pasty party, ice-laced beards and seeing skiing bears out on the trails, the Great Bear Chase Snow Bike Race has become part of the tradition of a great weekend of winter fun in Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula.

Today we’re happy to announce that registration for the 2014 Snow Bike Race is open through our registration partner AhtletePath.com. Get over to their website and get registered!

The race is scheduled for Sunday, March 9, 2014. The 25 km race starts at 10 a.m., and the 10 km race starting at 10:10 a.m. The fee for either event is $35 if you register in advance, or $45 by registering the day of.

“Bike racing continues to grow in popularity, and we’re excited to once again host the final Midwest snow bike race of the year,” Race Director Pat Szubielak said. “Our rolling wooded course is beautifully groomed, fast and fun.”

Racers will not only have a great experience on the picturesque Swedetown Trails, but they will also receive a Great Bear Chase hat. The race is only open to full-fledged snow bikes with a minimum tire width of 3.7”, and all riders are required to wear helmets.
